Raising pigs?
Does this gilt look like she has good basic structure to be a good sow? Im planning on possibly starting a breeding project (in the future) with her and a good boar from my area. I just recently got this cross from a good breeder…Im planning on possibly breeding her next year and using one of her offspring for a show pig.
ya can tell by seeing the muscle built up along the spine, and built up higher than the spine so you get that M shape going looking down the pigs spine.
Just remember , and this can be vital , u might no this but ill tell ya anyway, its just a key fact that i know, to do with piglets
iron is essential to the structure of hemoglobin ( the pigment of the red blood cells ) and many enzymes. Iron deficiency results in anemia. Anemia occurs in piglets unless they have access to dirt have good access to soil, or receive an injection of iron shortly after birth

The pigs that you raise will get only 1/2 of its genes from your sow, equally important is the boar that you breed her to. Again going back to a known good breeder to breed her will be your best bet. He/she will know what you need to get good show pigs.
