Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Businesses around the world are now spread over continents and remote geographical locations. A business set up and operating mainly in the US could have associates spread across Europe and Asia. This kind of business operation calls for simultaneous upgrades and updates. Employees need to be trained constantly to use and optimize the technology at hand and keep abreast of the latest developments in the business. It is to address this very need that the whole concept of elearning has been born. The term refers to the learning experience that is designed to reach out to trainees via the electronic medium.

Computer technology has given us a connectivity that is as versatile in application, as it is multi faceted. Today, online training is the ‘in’ thing in the business world. E-learning lessons or training are designed to guide employees and students via the help of integrated information that is communicated with the help of performance-based content. This not only adds to the employee’s procedural skill but also leads to an increase in business centric proficiency. The concept has a number of benefits for organizations like instant access to quality and very affordable training, convenience and flexibility of training sessions and greatly reduced environmental impact.

Tools for Aircraft Repair

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Flights are unlike ordinary vehicles their design and structure is unique. Aircraft tooling is quite difficult and it requires special tools. These tools will help in installation, removal and maintenance of flight parts. Plane tools vary from flight to flight. The tools used for repairing the flight depend on the company who built the aircraft. Most of the aircraft shops supply tools based on the type of flight.

Many tools are used in repairing the aircraft engine parts. Some of the common tools available in market are drilling machines, EMR guns, aircraft assembly fixtures and aircraft engineering devices.

Software also acts as a tool in aircraft repair. Today the technology has created easier ways for repairing the flights; most of the aviation companies are using software robots for cutting, drilling and installation of aircraft parts. Good aviation software has the ability to accurately estimate the structure and shape of the aircraft. If it can capture the design perfectly, building the aircraft will be easy.

Besides the tools required for carrying general operations, pilots also require some special tools for carrying out flight operations inside. All these tools can be bought from a good pilot shop. Most of the pilot shops offer required equipments like GPS systems, Maps, Goggles, Toggle watches, etc, for pilots.

Luxury cars on a roll for Asian high-rollers

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Rolls-Royce oozes class and cash, and Asia’s newly minted high-rollers are fuelling the luxury carmaker’s growth despite global financial turmoil.Since the start of this year, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, owned by the world’s biggest premium carmaker BMW, has increased its showrooms in the Asia Pacific region by four to 17 — or over 20 per cent of its total global outlets — and the region accounts for its biggest sales after the United States and the Middle East.

China, with its ranks of nouveau riche hungry for Western luxuries, is Rolls-Royce’s biggest market in Asia and third biggest globally, registering sales growth of just over 50 per cent last year.

“We’re on track to achieve 30 per cent more growth this year than last year in Asia Pacific,” regional director Colin Kelly told Reuters hours before launching the new Phantom Coupe in Singapore as international financial markets went into meltdown, triggered by woes on Wall Street.

“We’d be naive to think that this won’t make people stop and consider, but at the same time what we’re not seeing is a dramatic downturn in the business anywhere,” he added, referring to the global financial crisis.Last year, Rolls-Royce sold 200 cars out of the 1,100 globally to customers in the Asia-Pacific. After China, Japan is the biggest market, and India, with its booming economy and an appetite for luxury, is growing fast, Kelly said.

“Our customers are people who work hard and who want to reward themselves with something unique,” he added.

“Some are people who always aspired to own a Rolls, and others are people who would never have considered it five years ago, but are now drawn to the cars.”

Retailing for at least $850,000 in Singapore, the hand-built Phantom line is a bestseller for Rolls-Royce and a hit in the small but lucrative super luxury car market where carmakers battle it out to lure wealthy, young and often fickle buyers.

Worldwide, nearly two-thirds of new customers never owned a Rolls-Royce before, a fact Kelly said was testament to the brand’s development from cars “that weren’t really that fantastic” to “cars that wow people”.

“We are producing a Rolls for the 21st century,” he said of the Phantom. “It’s got heritage, but it is thoroughly modern.”

The Phantom Coupe features many luxury amenities, including an interior embellished with high quality leather and wood, as well as a state of the art sound system, a built-in umbrella holder and star-like ceiling…

lights. The trunk of the car also opens out to form a table, intended to be used at outdoor picnics.

“We think of the interior as furniture and the implements as jewellery,” said Hal Serudin, Rolls-Royce corporate communications manager for the region….

I understand the maximum range of an A319 is just under 4000nm, meaning it could make a trans-atlantic flight but only with the very ideal conditions and minimal passengers.
also, how much does the A319 cost?

Eurofly uses A330’s on that route. They dont even operate A319’s

Iv taken an interest in engines, bikes and cars what type of career can i get into?

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

go to school for mechanics. then youll have the background to do whatever you want. thats what i did. I fell in love with the working on them part, but if you do that and you dont like to work on them, then you have the knowledge to if your personal car breaks, or the knowledge to do side jobs and make some money, and you can still be a service advisor or get into parts sales. It helps a great deal to know what your talking about when you sell someone something for their car. If youve been there before and actually worked on it your customer basis will give you alot more respect and will come in to talk to you about what they need over someone else who has only been selling parts for 10 years.

Neat thing about working on cars. You can pretty much work on anything with an internal combustion motor after that. Pretty much anything else is a simplified less computerized version of what you would of learned to work on so you can pretty much do it all if you take time to sit back and understand the differences in the types of motors

Replacing back coil springs?

Monday, July 7th, 2008

i have a 1988 olds delta 88 and i think iam going to have to change the back coil springs, i already changed the struts on the back, but what do i have to do to change the back coils? do i have to get a spring compressor or will the come out and go back in without it? the back end sags. i think its because the struts were bad, the reason the springs are weak now. iam going to change them myself, i dont have the money these garages are asking to do the job. the springs are seperate from the struts. thanks guys!

jack the car body up,leave the rear axle on the ground, you will see how far the spring has relaxed to removed it.dont forget to use jack stands for your safety

………….

If the springs are separate from what you are calling the strut, well what you replaced is the shock, you don’t need any spacial tools but you are treading on very dangerous grounds unless you are a Professional, I wont tell you how to replace the springs because of the danger, I will say it is not very Difficult if you use Caution. A lot of Caution

……………

u need spring compressors so’s you dont get your head knocked off. and you have to put everything back on perfectly or your going to throw the wheel alignment off . read a lot on the internet and if possible go to the library and read a chilton or haynes auto repair manual.

…………

You should probably invest in a Chilton’s or Hayne’s manual, to do the job properly & safely.

Views on a 2000 rm 125?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I had one……good bike, but I ended up getting a 250 so I could do more trail riding. With the 125 I really had to wind it out to get it in the powerband and it wasn’t always easy to keep it there going thru unfamiliar woods.

I tried trail riding with it but I kept fouling plugs because I couldn’t rev the piss out of it on the trail.

Well, I’ve riden many bikes in my 32yrs of life and love 2 strokes. If you like to ride balls to the wall, this RM will be fine. This bike is a nice size and power ratio! I’m riding a KX 500 and wish it was a 125 at times. A 125 won’t slow you down in the tight trails and has enough speed for the open area. If I were to get another two-stroke it be a 125

……………….

great bike, i still ride my 99 rm125. basically same bike. only the 2000 was made 2 lbs lighter.
