Membership in a fraternity means much more than having a great place to party. A college fraternity chapter is an organized group of undergraduate men who are bound together by strong ties of close friendship. These chapters are generally part of a larger national or international organization which includes in its membership other undergraduates and a body of alumni. The traditions in fraternity life, such as the Greek paddles, are things that can date back decades, and even centuries. A fraternity provides the structure and environment necessary for friendships to flourish.
